I saw a picture of a baby today. The baby was not cute. In fact, she was about as far from cute as I have ever seen... This made me wonder... Do parents with not-cute kids know their kids are not cute?
I am so grateful that the two babies in my life right now are beyond cute. Thank you, Karen and Emily, for giving birth to beautiful little girls!!
I would say that most parents don't know, but that's what God's purpose for my life is. I tell people the blunt, albeit horrible, truth.

ReplyDeleteScott and I wonder this all the time. I heard a story once at my MOPS group that the lady knew her baby wasnt that cute. She tried to make him look better, but I guess she just knew he would only be what he was meant to be. She loved him, but she just knew he wasnt the typical "adorable" baby. She said she was cool with it. I feel sorry for the kid though. I hope all parents think their children are beautiful. I mean... Where else would the saying, "the face only a mother could love" come from? Hehehe! That poor kid, his mom doesnt even think he's cute! Yikes! Your neices are beautiful, though:)
